This warm and inviting Indian restaurant welcomes patrons in the historic center of Rome near the Colosseum. Maharajah's signature dishes capture the hearts and palates of gourmets. The original owner Micky and his family welcome guests once again to the warmth of this historic restaurant. Northern Indian specialties include chicken Maharajah tandoori (spiced, marinated chicken cooked in a charcoal-burning clay oven), chicken tikka masala (prepared with oriental herbs and spices), aromatic vindaloo lamb, makhani paneer (fresh cheese with vegetable and peanut sauce), and curry dishes. Different types of naan bread and rice accompany all meals. Desserts include kulfi (pistachio and almond ice cream) and rasmalia (milk-based sweet). Service is attentive, and dishes are beautifully presented.
